Woonbedrijf ieder1 is replacing conventional lighting in communal areas of housing complexes with LED. The main purpose of this is to reduce energy consumption and save costs. In an apartment building in Deventer, DOTT, DOTT M, DOTT H, R3 and TPN luminaires from Lightronics are used. This results in substantial savings.
"Investments in sustainability help to keep housing costs affordable, which is an important goal of ieder1."
Woonbedrijf ieder1 rents out and maintains around 14,000 homes in Deventer and Zutphen. "Five years ago, we started making the lighting in the general areas of our housing complexes more sustainable," says Hans Tuitert, technical manager at ieder1's property management department. "The conventional fluorescent and PL lighting is making way for LED. Every year we replace about 7% of our stock, so that in 15 years we will be completely switched to LED."
An apartment building on Hoge Rij in Deventer is one of the buildings where LED luminaires have been used. The building consists of a shopping plinth on the ground floor and flats on the upper floors. The conventional lighting has been replaced by DOTT, DOTT M, DOTT H, R3 and TPN luminaires from Lightronics.
When choosing lighting, ieder1 also considers aesthetics and appearance. "That is why we choose DOTT, DOTT M and DOTT H. These are very attractive luminaires that are available in different variants, which allows you to play with dimensions. We are already familiar with the DOTT and DOTT M from other projects and use them for lighting stairwells. The DOTT H is used next to the front doors of flats. We chose the DOTT H because with its hood it most closely resembles the luminaire that has been replaced." The eighteen new R3 recessed spotlights were mounted on the outside of the building, under the canopy near the shop plinth.
The result: up to 70% savings. The switch to LED leads to substantial savings. Tuitert: "Investments in sustainability help to keep housing costs affordable, something that is an important goal of ieder1. In buildings where the lighting has already been replaced, consumption and energy costs are up to 70% lower. This makes it an investment that is both good for the environment and good for residents' pockets. In addition, LED is low-maintenance, so it also saves on maintenance costs."
In the storeroom, 31 TPN luminaires equipped with Comfort Light were installed. These fittings have an autonomous motion detector and automatic dimming functionality. Tuitert: "This means that the fittings only burn at full power when movement is detected. Then the lights are dimmed step by step: from 100% to 80, 50 and finally 20%. In practice we see that during the day someone enters the storeroom about ten times, so the lights don't need to be on at full power for most of the day."
In choosing the fixtures, ieder1 was advised by Lightronics. Hans Tuitert: "We have been working together for a few years and we are very satisfied with it. Lightronics delivers A-quality, both in fixtures and in service, and has a solution for every question. Moreover, Lightronics guarantees a long backorder time, something that is also an important point for us.
The DOTT luminaire family consists of modern, impact-resistant, circular surface mounted luminaires in three sizes. The DOTT, the smallest member of the family, is suitable for porches, front doors, external access galleries, stairwells and corridors.
In terms of size, the DOTT M is the middle member of the DOTT luminaire family and is also available in a semi-recessed version. The DOTT M is ideally suited for use in entrance halls, lift lobbies, stairwells, corridors and entrances. This highly impact-resistant luminaire can be equipped with a twilight switch, motion sensor and emergency lighting function. You can combine the DOTT with the GEO or RINK to create a consistent visual identity for the lighting in a building complex.
The DOTT luminaire family consists of modern, impact-resistant, circular surface-mounted luminaires in various sizes. The DOTT H is suitable for porches, front doors, galleries, stairwells and corridors and can be personalized with a house number or logo.
TPN is a multifunctional surface-mount luminaire with a high light output. It is impact-resistant and waterproof (IP65), suitable for external access galleries, porches, corridors, stairwells, entrance halls, back alleys and storage rooms.
