Railway tunnel - Assen

Anyone cycling through the station tunnel from Assen-Oost to the city or vice versa will from now on automatically activate a light show on the artwork The Assen of Assen.  

Alderman Gea Smith commissioned the artwork in September 2018 together with artist Matthias Oostrik. Streams of light search for a way to the other side for 34 meters. The light network is based on the street pattern on either side of the station and depicts the exchange of energy between the two sides.

In the bicycle tunnel 20 Ventego luminaires are mounted in a light line. The LED fixtures have a color temperature of 4000K (neutral white), a luminous intensity of 6500 lumens and are dimmable by means of DALI.
